I am in Navy presently living in Bangor Washington. I am available to work when i am off. This is normaly weekends and evening. Please email me if your interested in working with me.
My Philosophy:
I want to explore, experiment, and capture the many beautiful flavors of the universe that I can. I want to create pictures that envoke an emotional response, or just to make you think. I want to capture the moment, and view photography as an experiment, for life is an experiment in itself.
Life is a game, an experiment, so why not have fun and enjoy it.
My educational background:
I graduated in 2003 at a small private university in Missouri where I got a BA in Biology, Environmental Science, and Design Arts with a minor in Global Studies. From such background you can infer that I am interested in Science and Arts. Often my science and art classes would go hand in hand. In Chemistry Research we use the same chemicals I used in Alternative Photography, in Remote Sensing I got into Infared photography, but discovered infared is also very interesting creative medium. In college and even to this day, I am still experimenting with photography and trying to figure out my style. I like to explore and photograph landscapes, bodyscapes, infared, and alternative photographic methods.
My Experience:
During college I ventured more and more into photography. I mostly did TFP though few times to get the experience I did pay models. In college I mostly focused, on alternative photographic processes, black and white and infared photography. I enjoyed doing landscapes, photos of human form, along with experimenting.
I also did extensive work with figure drawing. Learning how to draw the human form was a very important learning experience. Having to pay attention the the movement of the form and how it interacts taught me many important things.
My last couple of years:
Up till end of December 2006, I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Chuuk State, Federated States of Micronesia. For anyone who isnt aware were Chuuk is or for matter of fact Micronesia, if you know where Guam is, go about 500 miles southeast and you will find Chuuk. Chuuks claim to fame is its one of the worlds top scuba diving locations and the outer islands have some of the last true traditional navigators in the Pacific. During time as Peace Corps, I worked with Environmental Education with Youth, worked with Scouting Program. Though more importantly I been involved with scientific research with coral reefs and creation of Marine Protected Areas. Due to nature of my work, I learned about underwater photography. I still have a long way to go before I can compete with the scuba magazines though. I also have had experiences here on these islands that many people will have dreamed of. I seen insame island hospitality, ancient rituals dealing with navigation, and charished moments with spending time with legendary master navigator. All these experiences, I have had my cameria with me to document. Due to my work and other limitations my time here I been able to go into documentary or editorial photography.
I am now in the USA Navy learning to become a submariner as a sonar operator. I love the marine environment and thought that learning sonar would be something to cool. I might not agree with all our political leaders do, but I do believe in helping what makes USA great. I also think life as a form as adventure, so this is next page in my life.
The Future:
I will be in USA Navy for next 4 years. During this time, I want to do photography on side and persue some of my own artistic ideas. After years I am not sure if I will go ahead and make carrier in military go go to work with something like US Park Service.
Future Ideas:
As I say I like to capture beauty of universe and to experiment. I have many ideas, some are very crazy and daring. I dont want to explaim my ideas here, though many of theme have ideas that come
